Books I Wish I Own Now #3: July 2018 (Midyear Craze)

                The last time I made a post themed like this, I was able to get almost 90% of the books part of the list weeks after.  I am currently in my reading slump timeline due to overloaded tasks in the office and other more important priorities, that the chances for me to stack my TBR list is slim. But, tomorrow is another day. We always got high hopes and so we continue wishing. These are the new book I wish I will own days, weeks or months from now.

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

This is the second time this book made the list. I have heard that this is a phenomenal contemporary that I am looking forward having in my hands is this beautiful and heart-warming book by Celeste Ng. I have heard a lot of wonderful reviews and praises from the book community about this book. This has been on my anticipated reads for a long time now, but I cannot still grab a copy for it is very expensive.

Renegades by Marissa Meyer

This book made the list after one of the blogger I followed made this as her best book that she has read so far this year (Midyear Book Tag). I got my eyes on this one lately, but I was a little bit hesitant picking this one up for the mix reviews I have heard. But my instinct tells me to give this one a shot. Hope it will not disappoint.

And I Darken by Kristine White

This is another young adult fantasy that I wish I have in my shelves. This is the first installment of the series and I already got the second book “Now I Rise”. Ironic that I was not yet able to purchase this one. I have heard a lot of good things about the series and the third is about to be released later this month. I need to start reading this series because I have a big feeling that I will surely enjoy it.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson

This book interest me since January. A lot of my friends recommend this to me and I was curious why. Aside from the recommendations, I also saw one of my most favorite Survivor player reading this when she posted an update about the book in her Instagram account. Also, this book is one of the fast selling books earlier this year and I think all supports that this must be not just a hyped book but surely is a good one.

I Felt a Funeral in My Brain by Will Walton

I was recently looking for a good young adult contemporary fiction. I just want to add more contemporary on my collection so that fantasy and science fiction will no longer dominate my shelves. This book might be a good choice. I have heard a lot of good reviews about th is and I am very interested to confirm if these reviews are accurate.

The Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab

I can confirm that this author is overrated. I am sorry, but she is not really for me. I have invested too much on her works, from the Monster of Verity Duology to the Darker Magic Series, I was so far all disappointed. Yet, since I got the first two books of the Darker Shade of Magic series already (which by the way were both very expensive), I think I must grab the final book and just seal the deal one last time.

Books I Wish I Own Now #2: April 2018 (Birthday Wish)

It is really good to have books and at the same time it is very fulfilling to buy yourself some. The happiness you feel every time you acquire fresh pages from your beloved bookstores are one of those feelings that is so divine and irreplaceable. In line with this appreciation is the fact that it is not also good in a long run spending cash on books--for the sole reason-- they are in fact really expensive, But, at the end of the day, it is just knowing what really matters--- your priorities. Most of the time, mine are books.

So my birthday is fast approaching and the millennial in me is screaming to come out of the cage and cast a wish to the magical well of the books I wish I will own as soon as possible. These are the following:

A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab

I have read the Darker Shade of Magic (the first of the series) last February and I loved it. I cannot wait to get my hands on the second installment of the series but there were barriers. First, just a trivia, The Darker Shade of Magic paperback copy of mine is the most expensive paperback I ever have up to this moment. That is no different to the second one. So, you see, spending money on a paperback knowing the fact that you can purchase two or three more books for the same price is a dilemma. Second, is that there is currently no available copies of the book here in our country and I have to order it overseas, adding more to the problematic price.

Far From the Tree by Robin Ben

This book took the world by storm. If there is one book that can level with the same quality to that of The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, this will be the only book. Published last year, this book made itself known and I am very eager to know why.

Start with Why by Simon Sinek

I was lately blessed in my job and it resulted for me to hunt a copy of this book. I have seen only Know you Why by the author in our local bookstore and it seems impossible to get my hands to this one. I wish I have them now, so that I can start reading it and ----grow into someone better. But, seriously, I need help. I have to read this book as soon as possible.

Books I Wish I Own Now: January 2018

I have a lot of books that I own that are unread, but it does not mean that I have to stop buying or adding more to the piles. You see, a book nerd (I am not sure if this is the correct terminology to use) like me---just love books; whether they are read or unread. So this month, I have an "almost long list" of books that I wish I own. I discovered most of these books from the lists of the most favorite books in 2017 of the bloggers I followed recently. I was so curious and excited to unravel the pages of these books when I listened on how good these books are in so many different elements.

The first book in the list is the "The Darker Shade of Magic by Victoria Schwab". I've been hearing a lot of rants of how epic this book is-- not just the book but the entire darker shade of magic series also. The only reason why I still don't have these books is that I cannot afford them. I still feel that it will be really unfair for me to buy a brand new paperback copy of a book that cost around 900 php (almost 20 dollars). This price already cost a good quality hard bound copy on most other books. The darker shade of magic series hard bound copy cost around 1300-1500 php (30 dollars), at this amount, I can already buy a total of three brand new paper backs on the other titles.
