Signs That You Are A Book Nerd

We all love books. I hope you agree. We just differ on the degree of our fondness towards them. Some may find books as a medium to escape reality or a company that provides an endless amount of knowledge, but we cannot deny the fact that there are others who treat books as lovers. We call them the book nerds. The following are signs that may confirm your membership to the book nerd club:
They Don’t Go Outside the House Without a Book
A book nerd always has with them a book wherever they go. This is not necessarily a physical copy, some bring with them electronic format or even audiobook. Book nerds always make sure every vacation bag is accompanied by a book. They feel incomplete without it.

They Hate People Destroying Their Books
Book nerds treat books as pets. They see books as living organisms deserving of care and compassion. Every book nerd hates to see books whose covers are bent or folded, or pages torn and ripped. It hurts them to see their books not in a perfect condition.
They Don’t Like Other Borrowing Their Books
Book nerds hate to hear people asking them to borrow their books. Yes, book nerds are selfish when it comes to books. They don’t want to be apart from them. They feel so anxious every time they let someone borrow their books. Their minds are always thinking on the possible bad things that might happen to the books their friends borrowed from them.
Purchased Books Should Be Perfect
Book nerds spend time in bookstores in a minimum average of one hour every visit. They just find it very satisfying to be surrounded by shelves and books that are new and in perfect condition. They also spent time to arrange books on the shelves in the store. It satisfies them to see these books organized. Every time they purchase books, these should be in a perfect condition. They will never buy books that have stickers on the cover, have folds and scratches and whose paper edges are already oxidized. The books they are about to purchase should be the newest as possible.  Also, some book nerds dreamt to be working in bookstores.
They Talk About Books All the Time
Some may find book nerds annoying already. Most of the time, they only talk about books whether they are in the office, school, mall and even on social medias. Book nerds always want to share their good reads. They want to influence people around them to read the latest books that they love. It really satisfies them to see their friends read their book recommendations.

They Judge People According to the Books They Read
Yes, they don’t usually admit this, but book nerds secretly judge the people around them based on the books they own or read. They might base their decision on who to choose as a friend based on the books they collect or like to talk about. Also, it is a deal breaker for them if their date doesn’t read books. One must read books for them to like and love you.

They Do Judge the Book By its Cover
The main reason for book nerds to judge book by its cover it because they want these books to look good on their shelves. They judge the book by its cover because for them it is inevitable. Book covers are one of the best things that might happen to a book. A bad book cover greatly influences the readers mood or anticipation to read the book.

They Treat Books as Lovers
They secretly say to their books that, “Don’t worry, I will keep you safe”. Book nerds treat books as a living person. They make sure their books smell good and are not stained. They usually caught their selves sniffing books especially if they are new. Book nerds don’t practice monogamy when it comes to their romantic relationships with their books. Love to books should not be limited, that is they always believe.

Book Review: The Diabolic (The Diabolic #1) by S.J. Kincaid

I love this book, unexpectedly. It was quite surprising that I found this book amazing after all the bad reviews I have heard about it. I was really hesitant at first on reading this book because of the cover, the synopsis and the other amazing reading options. But I challenged myself and took risk, I read something that is not on top of my TBR pile and I was satisfied with the outcome.
This is a young adult, science fiction book that delivers thrilling, action-packed scenes and mind blowing political intrigues that will surely satisfy your ecstatic soul. This book will not disappoint you if you are looking for a fast-paced and thought provoking read. The characters were great, the world building was unique and the story itself is out of this world.
“Our ancestors sought knowledge, but we, their descendants, glorify ignorance.”
The characters in this book were a lot. I mean, in the beginning, you will surely find it very confusing to familiarize them but if you progress in the story, you will surely get a hang of it. I found the characters molded with personalities and they have portrayed their identities and philosophies all through out the book consistently. You will surely love and hate some of them. If there is one thing that I would like to compliment the author, that will be on how well she thought on making these characters. It shows in the book that they were really made with passion.
The world building was flawless. This book will take you out of this world. The world portrayed in this book is dark, cold, haunting and suspenseful. If you love to immerse yourself into these type of atmosphere I think this book is perfect for you. The book will give you a very awesome science fiction immersive experience and the inner Star Wars heart of you will absolutely be pleased.

The story was new to me. I think it was creative and original. I love the fact on how politically inclined the plots and how unpredictable they are. I was really satisfied with how the story went and I cannot think of something bad to say about it. This is surely a surprising read for me this year and I am surely recommending this to all of you.
