Rowan and Citra take opposite stances on the morality of the Scythedom, putting them at odds, in the second novel of the chilling New York Times bestselling series from Neal Shusterman, author of the Unwind dystology.
Rowan has gone rogue, and has taken it upon himself to put the Scythedom through a trial by fire. Literally. In the year since Winter Conclave, he has gone off-grid, and has been striking out against corrupt scythes—not only in MidMerica, but across the entire continent. He is a dark folk hero now—“Scythe Lucifer”—a vigilante taking down corrupt scythes in flames.
Citra, now a junior scythe under Scythe Curie, sees the corruption and wants to help change it from the inside out, but is thwarted at every turn, and threatened by the “new order” scythes. Realizing she cannot do this alone—or even with the help of Scythe Curie and Faraday, she does the unthinkable, and risks being “deadish” so she can communicate with the Thunderhead—the only being on earth wise enough to solve the dire problems of a perfect world. But will it help solve those problems, or simply watch as perfection goes into decline?

REVIEW:
Like OMG! I was left literally speechless after reading the last lines of this book. I cannot fathom or even get my sh*t together right now. This book blew me away. I loved the first book of the series but this one, the second, is way off the chart. This book really amazed me and blasted the roof---giving me a reading experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.

The characters were improved. They were evolved into someone way more defined and more appreciated compared to the first book. I loved all the characters and when I say I love them it already includes those that I hated and loathed. The author made such well defined characters that I found very intriguing and rich in personalities and wisdom that they really touched my soul. For real, the characters including the new ones were portrayed beautifully with excellent execution that will for sure stick in me for a long time.

The writing style was again so well done. It was not overdone nor unflattering. It was delivered on the spot. The piece felt well planned and was executed with a lot of efforts. I was reading every page with such appreciation on the writing style and the direction of the story. Kudos to the author, I am indeed a forever fan (since he wrote Everlost years ago).

The plot! Wow! The plot blew my brain away. This is such a well planned and well directed story where the pieces were really arranged to shock the readers. Every page is a unique experience. The plots were not as many as the first book but they were well planned that it will more than thrill the nerves of the readers. The plot was really executed with such accuracy in timing that definitely gave or marked this book one of the best books I have read this years---or the recent years. I cannot stop thinking of how the plot twists screw my brain.

I definitely demand you guys to read this. Yes, demand. This book deserves a hype because it is just that good.  Thought provoking, politically inclined and entertaining mind-blowing piece of art.
